Legoland Dino Island
From Fossils to First Roller Coasters
The best roller coaster for young kids is found in Legoland’s Dino Island. The Coastersaurus is set in a tropical paradise. Think Jurassic Park for kids without the scary raptors.
This ride is near the main entrance. It's a great first roller coaster for kids, although the first time my 2 year old son rode it, he screamed “No, no, make it stop!” He did say he wanted to try it, but once he got on, it was a different story!
Now our son is 4 and look! He loved the Coastersaurus. He says afterwards, "Again! Again!"
This dino roller coaster goes around twice, speeding up to 21 mph as it climbs up, curves and then dips.
Kids must be 36 inches or taller to ride.
If your kids like dinosaurs, they’ll love seeing this prehistoric jungle of animated and life-sized LEGO brick dinos!
The second attraction in
Legoland Dino Island
is Dig Those Dinos, an interactive area that your kids will enjoy if they like playing in the sand and dinosaurs.
They can test their paleontology skills as they dig for the “skeletal remains” of dinosaurs buried in over 30 cubic yards of sand.
You can bring your own shovel and/or brush, or rent Legoland’s Jr. Paleontologist shovel, bucket and fossil brush.
1 Dig costs $3.00 and 2 Digs cost $5.00.
When you return your rental tools, you’ll receive a Dig Those Dinos surprise egg to keep as a souvenir.
