Legoland Fun Town

Big Fun for Little Kids

Volvo junior drivers at Legoland Legoland Fun Town has so many things for your kids to do like the Lego Factory Tour! Another highlight for most kids is the Volvo Driving School. There's this Volvo Junior Driving School for kids 3-5 years old.

When your child is able to put the pedal on the medal themselves, watch out! Here's my son with his friend getting ready to ride around the track themselves.

After they ride around the oval track, they receive a Volvo Junior Drivers License.

Volvo junior driver And driving isn't just for boys...

As you can see, girls are great drivers too!

Volvo Driving School For your 6-13 year olds, there's the Volvo Driving School. As you can see, your young driver can really take a spin in this miniature town.

Complete with traffic lights, pedestrians, street lights and subways, this Legoland Fun Town ride is perfect for beginning drivers!

Your driver can learn about signaling, turning, stopping and going.

Driving in Fun Town And isn't it nice that your child can learn how to drive in a nice, controlled environment?

I do have a theory that you can see what your kids are going to be like as future drivers.

Some drivers are cautious and obey the laws of the road, stopping at intersections and yielding to others.

But on the other hand, you have the kids who cut off other drivers and zip away. There was a little girl like that on the day we were there and her mother was apologizing to the other parents.

Drivers licenses in Fun Town After the ride, your child can get their very own driver license. This is one example of how Legoland caters to their young guests in a wonderful, creative way.

Kids ages 6-13 can get their pictures taken and then they can have a drivers license made.

Their pictures usually turn out much cuter than their parent's real picture on their driver's license!

Fun Town fire truck Fire trucks are also a big hit with kids, so there's the Fun Town Fire Academy and "The Big Test" show on Fun Town Stage.

In "The Big Test," your kids will learn about fire safety while laughing at the crazy antics of the Fun Town Fire Dept volunteers. The show features a working fire truck, so be advised you could get a little wet. You can check showtimes when you enter the park.

Fire Academy at Legoland In the Fun Town Fire Academy, your family competes in a fire truck. You pump the truck to make it move, extinguish the flames in the "burning" building, and then race back to the start. Forgive the pun, but my family got hosed!

High above Fun Town, you'll see the pedal cars of Sky Cruiser. This is a fun way for your little ones to get a birdseye view of everything without riding on a roller coaster. There's a 36 inch height requirement to ride.

Then there's Kid Power Towers for your kids who love to go up and down. There's an exciting kid-appropriate free fall (if there is such a thing!). You have to be 40 inches or taller to ride. Other great rides include Skipper School for your boat lover. The boats go very slowly but the only part our 2-year-old didn't like was bumping into the other boats. Other kids thought it was funny, but not ours!

Sky Patrol There are also airplanes and helicopters to ride. If you have to choose between the two, go for Sky Patrol. Your child can choose which colorful helicopter to ride on (for instance, Police Patrol or Rescue Patrol). You control if the helicopter goes up or down, or turns left or right.

The height requirement for helicopters in Sky Patrol is 34 inches.

Flight Squadron Flight Squadron is also a fun ride. It's tamer and smaller than the helicopter ride. The airplanes are colorful and fun. The ride basically flies in a circle and moves up and down.

Fun Town The little shops and restaurants in Fun Town are adorable! This idyllic town is very welcoming. Your young kids won't get very far before stopping to look at all the LEGO creations, from fire fighters to a mariachi band!

Inside the Adventurers' Club, your kids can walk on a journey through the Amazon rain forest, ancient Egypt and the Arctic, made of LEGO bricks of course.

LEGO club house The LEGO Club House is a great place to make your own LEGO creations and cool down if it's a hot day. Your kids can buy LEGOS by the pound and replace missing, hard-to-find LEGO pieces.

The LEGO Factory Tour shows automated machinery demonstrating molding, decorating, assembling and packing real LEGOS. Your engineers and husbands will enjoy this part of the day as you can see in the VIDEO at the top of this page.
