It's a simple equation: kids + live animals = a good time. That's why the World Famous San Diego Zoo is a must-see attraction for the family! The 100-acre complex is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and their habitats. You’ll see that passion for excellence in every exhibit. And not only are the animals set in natural and beautiful surroundings, you will be too! As you walk around, you’ll be amazed at the lush landscaping. The San Diego Zoo is unparalleled in the country. You and your kids will find endless learning and photo opportunities here.

How to Save Money on Your Admission
Buy your tickets online and you’ll save time…no waiting in line, just straight to the gate.
There are 2 types of tickets: General Admission and Best Value. I would suggest the Best Value ticket because it comes with the Guided Bus Tour and Express Bus, and Skyfari Aerial Tram. The Zoo is so immense (and hilly!) that it’s very difficult to walk through with kids in one day. If you do opt for the General Admission, keep in mind you can’t buy those tickets online. You’ll have to wait to buy tickets at the Zoo.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Enter the wild and wonderful world of the zoo where you can see fierce creatures in their natural habitats without risking your life!
What's your child's favorite animal? As long as it's not a dinosaur, you have a very good chance of finding it at the San Diego Zoo. From the always popular panda bear to a peacock strutting across the road, there are animals at every turn to make your children ooh and ahh.
Whoever designed the Zoo had your appetite in mind. Whether you want a hamburger, burrito, pasta, or salad, you'll be able to find it easily as you walk around the spacious Zoo grounds.
What you won't find easily is a good deal on a Zoo meal! As you can imagine, the food is very expensive and so are the drinks.
If you’ve got little ones, you’ll probably have your own stroller. If you need to rent one, or maybe rent a double stroller for all the walking you’ll do, here are the
stroller rental prices.

Ride the Skyfari and the Bus Tour
No visit to the San Diego Zoo is complete without riding the fabulous Skyfari Aerial Tram!
And another worthwhile way to see this massive zoo is on the guided bus tour.
Walking around the Zoo can become, well, exhausting for the kids and for you too! When it’s time for a pit stop, why not stop in for one of the Zoo’s animal shows? This

will help you decide if you want to include a little rehearsed animal entertainment and education in your visit.
The Summer Nighttime Zoo
If you visit during the summer, you'll enjoy the extended hours, special shows and live entertainment of the Nighttime Zoo. Whether you see tribal men on stilts, a walking tree, or a Cirque-de-Soleil type show, your family will love Nighttime Zoo.
The Zoo has a relationship with many hotels in the area, so they are able to offer competitive package deals for families visiting the Zoo. Whether you’re thinking “no frills, just the basics” or “luxury accommodations,” they probably have a hotel package to suit your needs. The package deals usually include 4 nights and 4 Zoo Best Value tickets.
